Biography:

Aljoša Dežman, Ph.D., was born in 1981. He started studying law in the year 2000 and graduated with excellence in the year 2005 with a thesis, dealing with the topic of securities. He successfully defended his doctoral thesis, dealing with business damages responsibility, at the Ljubljana Faculty of Law in December 2009 and was promoted into a doctor of science at the University of Ljubljana shortly after in January 2010.

He began his career working in the legal sector of the Public Housing Fund from March to September 2005. He dealt mainly with housing issues and public orders. As of September 2005, he worked as a legal trainee at the High Court in Maribor. He became an assistant at the Maribor Faculty of Law in October 2006. After completing his time as an intern at the court, he passed the State Bar Examination. In 2011 he became a part of the pedagogical staff at the Maribor Faculty of Law.

Aljoša Dežman, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor and lectures in the fields of company and Roman law. He is the author of numerous scientific articles in domestic and foreign publications. He deals mainly with the field of damages, business civil law, insolvency law, corporate law and comparative law. He attends national and international conferences, covering all of these areas.

The Minister of Justice named him as the president of the committee for examining administrators in insolvency proceedings and proceedings of forced liquidation in September 2010. He is also active in international research projects.

In November 2010 he co-authored a monograph ‘Schutz der Minderheitsaktionäre in Ost- und Mitteleuropa', published by the Facultas/Nomos publisher in Vienna.
