Dear students,
You are invited to take part in identifying outstanding examples of pedagogical excellence. Nominate higher education teachers and higher education associates who have made a particular impression on you. If you have recognised exceptional quality, innovative approaches and dedication to the transfer of knowledge in their teaching, this is an excellent opportunity to contribute to recognising quality in teaching.
About the Award
The UM Award for Pedagogical Excellence recognises and promotes outstanding achievements of staff in the field of teaching. Help highlight and reward those who inspire and encourage you in your development.
Each year, the awards are expected to be presented on World Teachers’ Day, 5 October. One main award is conferred upon higher education teachers and one upon higher education associates in each of the following two fields:
Natural Sciences, Engineering, Health and Agriculture
Social Sciences and Humanities
From Nomination to Selection
A nomination may be submitted by a group of at least three students (who are attending a course taught by the nominee in the current academic year), the faculty student council, the faculty senate (upon the proposal of the faculty’s committee for academic affairs), or the head of a study programme.
Nomination Timeline
The nomination period runs until the end of the summer examination period of the current academic year. In the 2025/26 academic year, nominations may be submitted no later than 10 July 2026.
